Every once in a while a dog enters your life and changes everything. Promise Land in Pasadena, Maryland has been family owned and operated since 2007. What started as a love for Golden Retrievers has grown alongside our children, each incorporating their own passion for a different breed: Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, French Bulldogs and Boston Terriers. We still use our passion for quality and outstanding Goldens as the model for every breed we raise. We thoroughly check the health of each of our breeding dogs. From clearances to genetics, every dog, no matter the breed, must pass with flying colors before it is added to our program. Our goal has always been to improve and expand the quality of each of our dogs. Many of our lines are now fourth generation. Most of our breeding dogs do not live in kennels. They live with guardian families, as loved members of the family, and we never have to kennel-raise a dog. Our adult dogs see Alexander Animal Hospital for their care. We are licensed and inspected: Anne Arundel County Animal Control inspects our facility every year. We are also an AKC Bred with H.E.A.R.T. breeder and are rated Excellent by Good Dog.

Most of our dogs live as beloved family pets in guardian homes, not in kennels.
How the guardian program works →Every puppy is examined and health-tested in partnership with Alexander Animal Hospital.
We recommend Jennifer Lyons, a certified, AKC-accredited dog trainer near Baltimore.
Jen has trained dogs for 12 years. She started with Petsmart and then joined the American Kennel Club (AKC) training program. She is an accredited trainer and evaluator for the AKC's Canine Good Citizen (CGC) and S.T.A.R. Puppy programs, and also teaches beginners' agility. All her training uses positive reinforcement.
She offers classes and one-to-one training, including help with specific problems: sit, stay, down, heel, come, wait and leave it, with testing available. In the Baltimore area she can come to your home or meet you halfway.
The Canine Good Citizen test is a 10-step test of good manners; dogs who pass can receive an AKC certificate, and CGC is now an official AKC title. Therapy Dogs International uses it as part of its therapy-dog assessment. The advanced CGCA and urban CGCU titles are available too.
Just mention that Promise Land Goldens referred you.
