The American Gentleman — affectionate, smart and full of fun
Our Boston Terriers come from esteemed European lines. The Boston Terrier came into existence in the late 1800s in Boston, Massachusetts. It was recognized by the AKC in 1893 and was one of the first Non-Sporting breeds bred in the U.S. — the first of the American-made breeds the AKC recognizes today. With a tuxedo-like coat, it earned the nickname "the American Gentleman." Although small, Bostons are sturdy and muscular, with a sleek, shiny coat and crisp white markings (black, brindle or seal on white). They weigh anywhere from 12 to 25 pounds and live an average of 11–13 years. They are low maintenance: a weekly brushing, a bath every few months, nails every couple of weeks and regular tooth brushing. Like other flat-faced breeds, Bostons cannot cool themselves as efficiently as long-nosed dogs. Keep them out of extreme heat and cold, protect their large, slightly protruding eyes, and give them 30 minutes to an hour of daily exercise.

Every parent is screened before joining our program.
Guardian Home Program
Most of our dogs live with families, not in kennels.
Both parents of every litter are health tested for hips, elbows, heart, eyes, patellas and dentition. We run full Embark genetics on every parent and also use Paw Print genetic screening for our next generation of breeding parents.

Join the WaitlistMost of our breeding Boston Terriers live as cherished family members in guardian homes, never in kennels. A guardian family receives a top-quality Boston at no cost and keeps the dog as a family pet, while we keep the breeding rights and pay for all health testing and breeding expenses. When the dog retires, we cover the spay or neuter and ownership transfers to the guardian family. Guardian homes live within an hour of Pasadena, Maryland, own their home with a fenced yard, feed one of the Victor dog foods we require and keep the dog on NuVet vitamins.
